Horowhenua Taste Trail
Case Study
Event Overview
PomPom Events & Marketing had the pleasure of working alongside the Horowhenua Taste Trail Team for 2022 as their Event Managers!
The Horowhenua Taste Trail is a not-for-profit organisation governed by the Horowhenua Taste Trail Trust. The Trust is composed of representatives from the four founding producers of the Horowhenua Taste Trail: Genoese Foods, Lewis Farms, Turks Poultry and Woodhaven Gardens, as well as one community member. The Trust governs the event, ensures it is financially sustainable, and sets the strategic direction. The 2022 event was managed and coordinated by a committee of producers, PomPom Events & Marketing, and community volunteers.
The event celebrates the richness and diversity of all that is grown and produced in the Horowhenua region! The Horowhenua Taste Trail is essentially a food trail that tells the paddock to plate story. With a variety of local producers opening their doors so that people can either drive around at their own pace or pop on one of the Taste Trail buses and visit these sites and taste the produce - beautifully presented by onsite chefs, as well as touring the facilities, learning more about the production and being able to purchase produce. There are also breakfast and after-hours events hosted on the same day by some of the producers to further showcase the local produce and extend visitors' fabulous day in the Horowhenua.
Finally, the Trust also manages the Dine event. This three-course dinner showcases the delicious food from the region and is all about celebrating local.

We’re proud to support such a wonderful local charity and the great work that they continue to do.
The Horowhenua Taste Trail is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the local producers and is a huge part of promoting the region as the garden of New Zealand. We’re excited to be involved in future events and continue to support the telling of the paddock-to-plate journey.
